A remarkable project that blends the ecology with economic activities.
On 28 May the BRDA launched an ambitious project that successfully combines economic activities with the ecology.
This large plot of land called "Erasmus South" will offer companies in the high-tech sector a new possibility for developing within the Region in an enormous area that accommodates companies (Erasmus Hospital, UCB, l’Oréal, DI, and many more).
This new complex is located along the route from Lennik to Anderlecht and has the advantage of being fully served by numerous transport methods, including a metro station that is very close.
The Government of the Brussels-Capital Region, with the help of instruments like the BRDA, is working to guarantee the sustainable and viable development of the Region by offering an attractive framework for companies. But so that the Brussels Region remains an area for pleasant and attractive living, it is imperative to combine economic activities with respect for the environment.
| "This new zone of economic activities has been developed on this site while respecting the ecology. A gentle transition between the urban and rural landscapes has been developed. From this point of view the project is exemplary for the Brussels Region" comments Mr Luc Willame, Chairman of the BRDA. |
This is an additional opportunity for the BRDA to show that economic development can go hand in hand with the ecology. The "Erasmus South" site will accommodate large companies with high added value.
The first company to be established there will be GFDI, a company specialising in information technology tools intended for mutual insurance companies. It will establish 200 jobs in the Brussels Region.
This new complex provides an opportunity for companies to grow under conditions favourable to their employees. In fact, in addition to planning for numerous footpaths and green spaces, the site will also house various services such as a restaurant, a cafeteria and a conference room.
